Don’t let dirty track or brief power interruptions ruin your operation.
The CurrentKeeperIII helps keep your locomotive running smoothly through brief power interruptions caused by dirty track, insulated frogs, or momentary loss of electrical contact. With a 470uF capacity, it is designed to provide dependable short-term backup power in a more compact format than our full-sized CurrentKeeper products. Typical hold time is approximately 0.5 to 0.75 seconds, depending on the locomotive, decoder, motor load, lighting, and overall operating conditions.
Because performance can vary from one installation to another, we do not specify an exact hold time. The CurrentKeeperIII is engineered to bridge short, intermittent power losses and improve reliability during normal operation, but it is not intended to correct ongoing pickup problems caused by dirty wheels, poor track conditions, or inadequate electrical contact.
