Built in 1928, this FT-N-classflatcar was modified in 1943 to support and transfer the center wing section of B-29 bombers for final assembly. The B-29 was a large, 4-engine piston aircraft used during the end of WWII and the Korean War. Founded in 1859, Santa Fe was one of the largest railroads in North America up until 1996, when it merged with Burlington Northern to form BNSF.
